杜鵑 花冠常為五裂
杜鵑泛指杜鵑花科杜鵑屬（Rhododendron）植物，以灌木為主。本港可賞九種杜鵑，包括六種香港原生杜鵑[詳情]（華麗杜鵑、紅杜鵑、南華杜鵑、毛葉杜鵑、香港杜鵑、羊角杜鵑），以及三種栽培或外來物種（白杜鵑、紫杜鵑花、錦繡杜鵑）。杜鵑花通常為頂生的類傘形總狀花序，花冠通常為五裂，呈鐘狀、漏斗狀、管狀或高腳碟狀。所有野生杜鵑屬植物均受《林務規例》（第96A章）保護，嚴禁管有及售賣。杜鵑花期一般為3-5月。
Rhododendron is a major genus in the Ericaceae family. Among the 10-odd species of Rhododendron in this garden are native wild plants such as Red Azalea (Rhododendron simsii), Lovely Azalea (R. pulchrum), Purple Azalea (R. pulchrum var. phoeniceum) and White Azalea (R. mucronatum). Rare species such as Yellow Azalea (R. molle) and Westland’s Rhododendron (R. moulmainense) can also be found here.
Rhododendrons usually flower in early spring between March and April. Red Azalea has the reddest and brightest flowers among all species.
宮粉羊蹄甲，學名 : Bauhinia variegata
原產地是華南，屬蘇木科落葉喬木，樹高可達15米。花開紫紅色或淡紫紅色，最上端的花瓣帶有明顯暗紫色及黃綠色條紋。宮粉羊蹄甲花色豔麗，且留有淡淡幽香。三月是花期，常在新葉長出前盛開；綻放時會將樹冠染成粉紅色，景致宜人，與櫻花不相伯仲，因此深受歡迎，亦常植於步道旁及庭園。
Scientific Name : Bauhinia variegata
Native to the South China area, it is a deciduous tree in the family Caesalpiniaceae with a height up to 15 metres, bearing violet or paler flowers that have conspicuous dark purple and yellowish-green strips on upper petals. Camel's Foot Tree blossoms in March with gorgeous flowers and a light fragrance, usually reaching full bloom before the emergence of new foliage. The blooming flowers dye the tree crown pink, helping create pleasant views comparable to those of Cherry blossoms and hence making them highly popular among flower lovers. It is commonly used in roadside and garden landscaping projects.
Scientific Name : Tabebuia chrysantha
This deciduous tree in the family Bignoniaceae is native to a wide region spanning Mexico to Venezuela in Central and South Americas, with its height reaching up to 20 metres. Its golden yellow flowers, resembling wind chimes, flourish in the absence of foliage. In its full bloom, the tree features globes of golden inflorescence hanging near the tips of branches, turning all into a sea of gold yellow. In Hong Kong, this species usually blooms in March, with a brief flowering period of about one to two weeks.

屬紫葳科落葉喬木，原產地分布在墨西哥的西北部至阿根廷的西北部，樹高可達30米。花期在春季，開花時花多葉少，密集的花朵把整個樹冠染成紫紅色，景色令人難忘。
