The government of Foshan's Sanshui District has issued a comprehensive notice regarding Chikungunya fever, a mosquito-borne disease known to result in rashes and significant pain, to warn the public about the potential risks associated with the disease.
Infected individuals typically experience sudden high fever and severe joint pain, especially in the wrists, ankles, and fingers, making movement difficult.
Other common symptoms include rashes, and some patients may even develop chronic pain or severe complications, significantly impacting their health and quality of life.
According to earlier reports, the cumulative number of cases in Foshan has exceeded 6,000, and on July 29, the local government announced the activation of a level three public health emergency response.
The Foshan authorities have launched a large-scale mosquito eradication effort.
